Experts from the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) and faculty members of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) conducted an event for 2nd-year cadets.
Christopher Elliott, Advisor on Criminal Investigations of Organized Crime, and Dmitry Yehorov, EUAM Information Technology Specialist, alongside DSUIA Senior Lecturer of the Information Technology Department Serhii Prokopov, thoroughly addressed contemporary cyber threats and strategies to mitigate risks.
During the session, cadets gained insights into advanced phishing attacks, including those leveraging artificial intelligence, zero-day vulnerabilities, and other cyberattacks posing risks to future law enforcement officers serving in the National Police of Ukraine.
The lecturers emphasized risk reduction strategies, methods for protecting personal and official information, and techniques for identifying potential threats.
In the practical component, participants analyzed real-world case studies, examining attack mechanisms and demonstrating the effective application of basic cybersecurity knowledge.
The discussion sparked lively debates on several topics. By the lecture’s conclusion, participants not only deepened their knowledge but also acquired practical tools for robust information protection amid daily challenges.
