On May 28, 2025, the Department of Tactical and Special Training of the Educational and Scientific Institute for Training Specialists for Preventive Units of the National Police of Ukraine held the final meeting of the scientific circle for this academic year on the topic: “Ways to Improve the Level of Tactical-Special and Tactical-Medical Training of Future Law Enforcement Officers.”

At the beginning of the meeting, Police Captain Hanna Turchanikova, a lecturer of the department, outlined the range of issues planned for discussion and gave the floor to cadets Yaroslav Lysiuk and Ilona Buyakova from group DR-344. They presented analytical reviews and brief practical recommendations for improving the training system of students in the fields of tactics and tactical medicine. Special attention was given to international experience, particularly the training of police officers in NATO countries, with a comparison of approaches and the possibility of adapting them to Ukrainian conditions.

The meeting also addressed shortcomings of the current training system, the need to update training programs based on wartime experience, the importance of introducing modern simulators, training devices, and VR technologies into the educational process, the role of interagency cooperation (joint exercises with the State Emergency Service, medical professionals, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine), as well as the necessity of developing psychological resilience and first aid skills for combat situations.

The cadets demonstrated a high level of interest in the practical improvement of professional training, which highlights the relevance of the chosen topic and the potential of scientific research activity as a tool for developing the education system for law enforcement officers.
