On June 4, 2025, a three-day national seminar-training began at Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, bringing together representatives of leading educational and training institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from across Ukraine.
The event will run until June 6 and aims to unify approaches to the teaching of practice-oriented disciplines within the system of professional training for future law enforcement officers.
The seminar was officially opened with welcoming remarks from the Rector of DSUIA, Police Colonel Oleksandr Morgunov, and the Head of the Education Quality Assurance Division of the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Tetiana Fomenko. They emphasized the importance of strengthening the practical component of educational programs, particularly under martial law, and expressed gratitude to the specialists who joined the section work.
On the first day, participants were introduced to the university’s material and technical facilities and began working in three thematic sections:
● Firearms Training
● Tactical and Special Training
● Special Physical Training
During the section work, participants discussed updates to academic curricula, standardizing learning outcomes and final assessment criteria, and incorporating relevant topics related to current security challenges.
The seminar-training is organized by DSUIA in collaboration with the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Representatives from the National Academy of Internal Affairs, MIA universities in Kharkiv, Lviv, Odesa, Rivne, Donetsk, and regional training centers of the National Police also took part in the event. In addition, instructors from the Police Academy and operational officers of the National Police of Ukraine joined the training.
This collaborative event marks an important step toward enhancing the quality and effectiveness of professional police training across the country.
