Combating Cybercrime: Practical Training Session for DSUIA Cadets

A practical training session was held at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs for second-year cadets of the Faculty for Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine, with the participation of a practitioner from the Cyberpolice Department.

The event was conducted by Major of Police Dmytro Danchenko, Head of the Cybercrime Counteraction Division in Dnipropetrovsk Region, Cyberpolice Department of the National Police of Ukraine.

During the session, cadets were introduced to the main types of online fraud schemes, particularly those related to buying and selling goods. The discussion covered the mechanisms for identifying offenders involved in such crimes, as well as modern approaches to combating cybercrime.

The future law enforcement officers gained theoretical knowledge and learned about the tools used in the daily operational and investigative work of the cyberpolice. These included methods of collecting digital evidence, monitoring online activity, and algorithms for interacting with victims.

Such sessions are a vital part of the cadets’ practical training, helping them develop an understanding of current threats in cyberspace and preparing them for professional duties in the context of digital transformation of the security environment.
