NEWS

The sessions, involving judges, are held as part of cadets’ study of “Criminal Procedure” and “Measures to Secure Criminal Proceedings.”

Organized by the Department of Criminal Procedure at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) for cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine, the events focused on practical training.

Professor Viktoriia Rohalska conducted a session on “Court Proceedings” for 3rd-year cadets, with Judge Maksym Taus from Novokodatskyi District Court in Dnipro invited to discuss general provisions, challenges, and practical case studies.

Another session, held at the university’s “Courtroom” training ground, simulated a court hearing on selecting detention as a preventive measure, within the discipline “Measures to Secure Criminal Proceedings.” Judge Oleksandr Batuev from Sobornyi District Court in Dnipro led the practical component.

Cadets performed roles as investigating judge, prosecutor, defense attorneys, suspect, and court secretary. Post-simulation, the judge provided constructive feedback, emphasizing key aspects of applying preventive measures during wartime.

Such sessions enable cadets to reinforce knowledge, gain practical skills, and receive expert insights from active judicial representatives.
