The event was held for 1st-year cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine. It was organized by Alina Horodnychenko, a psychologist from the Psychological Support Unit.
The route held both symbolic and functional significance. Accompanied by the psychologist, cadets visited an art stage, a free art space serving as a platform for visual reflection, aesthetic interaction, and a brief discussion on art’s impact on emotional well-being. Participants shared thoughts on how urban cultural elements can support self-regulation, emotional recovery, and personal perception expansion.
The next stop was the Dnipro embankment, where cadets practiced mindful walking, breathing exercises, and observed changes in their emotional state. They completed the “Three Resources” exercise, identifying internal, social, and external sources of support. This approach fosters focus on positive experiences, enhances self-support skills, and boosts emotional resilience.
The final stop was the green zone of Taras Shevchenko Park, symbolizing historical memory, cultural unity, and inner strength. A concluding discussion with group support elements allowed cadets to share impressions, highlight impactful moments, and reflect on the importance of self-reflection and emotional care for future professional duties.
The event aimed to relieve psycho-emotional stress and foster awareness of psychological health as a key component of professional resilience for police officers. Amid intense academic demands, such practices prove effective in supporting cadets’ harmonious development as professionals and individuals.
The DSUIA Psychological Support Unit will continue implementing innovative formats combining education with emotional intelligence, self-regulation, and personal resilience development for cadets.
