The meeting was organized by the course leadership to familiarize cadets with the realities of service in operational police units.
On the eve of their field training, the cadets had the opportunity to speak with a graduate of the faculty who currently holds the position of community police officer in the prevention sector of Police Department No. 3 of Police Unit No. 2 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk Region — Senior Lieutenant of Police Vitalii HRYNIKH.
The practitioner shared his professional experience, spoke about the daily challenges in the work of a community officer, the specifics of communication with the public, response to conflict situations, and the legal aspects of daily duties.
Special attention was given to the mentorship institute, which, according to the officer, plays a key role in the development of young police officers. It is through mentoring that newcomers are able to adapt more quickly, gain essential skills, build resilience to professional challenges, and strengthen public trust in the law enforcement system.
Direct communication with a practitioner allowed cadets to better understand the expectations of future service, ask relevant questions, and form clear benchmarks for their professional development.
