Before the start of their internship, cadets of the Faculty of Training for Pre-Trial Investigation Units and the Educational and Scientific Institute for the Training of Preventive Activity Units of the National Police of Ukraine attended a preparatory briefing.
The event was conducted by the First Vice-Rector of Dniprovsk State University of Internal Affairs, Ihor Mahdalina, with the participation of the leadership of the faculty and the institute. The meeting was also joined by Police Lieutenant Colonel Iryna Tverdostup, Head of the 10th Department (Operations Support) of the Strategic Investigations Department in Dnipropetrovsk Region of the Strategic Investigations Directorate of the NPU, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Artem Bohach, Head of the Intelligence and Operational Department of the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Main Department of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Region.
The cadets received detailed explanations regarding the specifics of their internship in the police units of Dnipropetrovsk Region. Particular emphasis was placed on compliance with the law, professional discipline, and safety while performing official duties.
Participants were instructed on how to maintain their internship logbooks, assessment procedures, reporting processes, and interaction with mentors at their assigned locations.
Anti-corruption compliance officer Ruslan Lupyr stressed the importance of adhering to the requirements of the Law of Ukraine “On Prevention of Corruption”, encouraging cadets to adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption. He also highlighted the role of whistleblowers, noting that timely reporting of potential disciplinary violations by cadets is a preventive measure against possible legal breaches, including those with signs of corruption-related crimes or other offenses under the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Additionally, attention was drawn to the importance of maintaining mental health during the internship. The cadets were reminded of the need to uphold official discipline, adhere to ethical standards of police conduct, ensure personal safety, and strictly comply with the orders of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Rector of the University.
