Table Tennis for Veterans: Training Continues

NEWS, Sport for military veterans

Another table tennis training session for military veterans was organized by the Department of Special Physical Training at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) as part of the “Friendly Support” project by the Department of Education, Science, and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Veterans practiced stroke techniques, serves, and defense adapted to their physical needs. Table tennis, as an adaptive sport, supports comprehensive rehabilitation. For military veterans, these sessions aid in restoring motor functions after injuries, improving coordination, reaction, and fine motor skills.

The game reduces anxiety, supports the fight against post-traumatic stress disorder, and boosts confidence through achieving sports goals. Group training fosters a supportive atmosphere, promoting social reintegration and strengthening community bonds.

The athletes were coached by Ukraine’s Table Tennis Champion Vasyl Koval.

The event was held as part of All-Ukrainian Olympic Day.
