DSUIA Psychologists Conduct Leadership Development Session for Department Heads

Psychologists from the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs organized a meeting with the heads of departments of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Units of the National Police of Ukraine.

The session focused on the psychological influence of leaders on team cohesion and the development of leadership skills and qualities.

Participants explored both theoretical and practical aspects of the leader’s and manager’s social role within structural units. Special attention was given to the key factors influencing professional effectiveness and strategies for their development. The session also included psychological techniques aimed at reducing interpersonal and professional communication barriers, strengthening motivational and volitional spheres, and preventing conflicts.

The meeting featured engaging discussions between facilitators and participants on the specific nature of leadership within the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the needs and roles of leaders, management challenges, and the impact of personal leadership traits on the psychological climate within departments. Participants shared experiences, enhancing the overall understanding of the topic.

Such an initiative will contribute to strengthening the psychological cohesion of departmental teams, which will positively impact the effectiveness of their practical work.
