Interaction Between Educational Safety Service Officers and Community Police Officers: Practical Aspects

The training session was organized by the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA).

Community police officers from Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv Oblasts, undergoing specialization training at DSUIA, participated in the practical session. The meeting focused on the interaction of community police officers with executive authorities, local self-government, the public, and international organizations in preventing and countering domestic violence.

Olena Tkacheva, Head of the Educational Safety Service Sector of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Police Lieutenant Colonel, addressed the officers. The session covered practical aspects of the Educational Safety Service’s activities and opportunities for effective police interaction with the educational environment at the community level.

Participants learned about the Service’s structure, tasks, and main directions, explored specifics of preventive work with children, response protocols for threats in educational institutions, and reviewed examples of creating safe spaces in schools.

Special attention was given to building trust between police, students, educators, and parents. Sharing practical experiences, analyzing real cases from the work of Educational Safety Service inspectors and community police officers, and discussing current challenges faced in communities made the session informative, engaging, and highly practice-oriented.
