The event was organized by the Department of Special Physical Training at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA).
For over a year, DSUIA has hosted weekly table tennis training sessions for military veterans. A core group of regular participants has formed, noting that these sessions not only improve physical fitness but also foster a sense of community. The athletes are coached by Ukraine’s table tennis champion Vasyl Koval.
Recently, representatives from the Veterans’ Council of the Solone Territorial Community in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast joined the training, significantly expanding the participants’ geographic reach.
Experts highlight that table tennis is one of the least injury-prone sports, offering numerous benefits. Regular training strengthens the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, enhances vision, cognitive abilities, and overall physical fitness.
Moreover, these sessions help veterans engage in sports, encourage an active lifestyle, and promote socialization.
The event was held as part of the “Friendly Support” project by the Department of Education, Science, and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
