The Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs hosted a practical shooting competition for the Cup of the Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Region. The event featured teams from various units of the National Police and a combined team representing DSUIA.
The event was opened by the Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Region, Colonel of Police Yurii Merdenov. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of high-quality and regular firearms training for law enforcement officers, highlighting that improving practical shooting skills enhances the professionalism of Security and Defense Sector personnel and brings Ukraine closer to Victory.
A total of 36 shooters participated in the competition, organized into teams of three. Participants used pistols and completed four exercises, each requiring a minimum of eight shots. Officers from various units of the National Police, the special police unit KORD, and the DSUIA team demonstrated accuracy, endurance, and professionalism.

3rd place – KORD unit representatives
Individual standings – Men:
1st place – Police Lieutenant Colonel Yevhen Zelenskyi, DSUIA team;
2nd place – Police Lieutenant Andrii Bondarenko, Main Directorate team, DSUIA graduate;
3rd place – Police Major Oleksandr Karpenko, DSUIA team.
Individual standings – Women:
1st place – Olena Lopaieva, DSUIA team;
2nd place – Police Lieutenant Dariia Yahodka, Samarskyi District Police Department;
3rd place – Police Lieutenant Polina Romenska, Main Directorate team, DSUIA graduate.
Prizes and awards were presented by Colonel of Police Yurii Merdenov, Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Region; Ihor Mahdalina, First Vice-Rector of DSUIA; Police Lieutenant Colonel Ihor Herei, Head of the Human Resources Department of the Main Directorate; and representatives of the sports community.
