NEWS

A practice-oriented lecture on “Basic Cybersecurity” was held at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA), organized by experts from the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) in collaboration with university instructors.

The event was attended by participants of the short-term professional development program—community police officers of the National Police of Ukraine. The lecture was organized by the Department of Professional Development and Specialization of DSUIA’s Institute of Postgraduate Education and Distance Learning.

During the session, participants learned about strategies for reducing cyber risks and received practical recommendations for avoiding common errors when working with information and communication systems.

EUAM IT specialist Dmytro Yehorov thoroughly covered both theoretical and applied aspects of the topic. At the participants’ request, he elaborated on mobile device cybersecurity, specifically explaining the “Principle of Least Privilege” in their configuration.

Instructors emphasized the importance of restricting access rights as an effective way to reduce data breach risks, regular updates of operating systems and software, and methods for detecting and removing malicious programs.
