Pre-internship briefings were conducted for first- and second-year cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-trial Investigation Units of the National Police of Ukraine, as well as for first-year cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine.
The sessions were led by the First Vice-Rector of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, Ihor Mahdalina, with the participation of faculty leadership.
The cadets also had the opportunity to speak with:
– Oleksandr Batuiev, judge of the Sobornyi District Court of Dnipro;
– Police Lieutenant Colonel Vladyslav Harichev, Head of the Department of Administrative Practice and Planning of the Preventive Activity Directorate of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region.
First-year cadets received detailed explanations regarding the specifics of their internship in the structural units of the National Police of Ukraine. Second-year cadets were briefed on their upcoming internship in the courts under the jurisdiction of the Territorial Office of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Emphasis was placed on legality, service discipline, and safety in the line of duty.
Cadets were instructed on how to maintain an internship diary, the criteria for assessment, the reporting process, and how to collaborate with supervisors at their internship placements.
Ruslan Lupyr, the University’s Commissioner for Anti-Corruption Activities, stressed the importance of strict compliance with the Law of Ukraine “On Prevention of Corruption.” He emphasized the importance of cultivating a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption among cadets and discussed the role of whistleblowers. He noted that timely reporting of disciplinary violations can prevent potential breaches of the law, including corruption-related and criminal offenses.
Additionally, Serhii Vyshnevskyi, Head of the Psychological Support Division, spoke about maintaining mental hygiene during internships. Ivan Pavlovtsev, Head of the Monitoring Division, reminded cadets of the importance of adhering to service discipline, police ethics, personal safety measures, and unconditional compliance with the orders of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Rector of the University.
