A solemn event was held at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs to mark the 10th anniversary of the National Police of Ukraine.

Officers, cadets, university staff, and distinguished guests gathered in the assembly hall to honor those who stand guard over law and order and public safety.

The event began with the ceremonial performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine and a moment of silence.

Rector of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, Police Colonel Oleksandr Morgunov, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. He emphasized that every cadet must treat their future service with utmost responsibility from the very beginning, as the lives and safety of Ukrainian citizens will depend on their choices and actions.

During the event, university staff and cadets were recognized for their professionalism, achievements in service, and exemplary performance of duties. Letters of gratitude and commendations were presented on behalf of the Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, the Mayor of Dnipro, the Head of the Southern Interregional Department of the Ministry of Justice, the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk Region, and the Criminal Analysis Department.

Several cadets were awarded the rank of “Police Corporal” for academic excellence and active participation in university life.

The Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk Region, Police Colonel Oleksandr Hanzha, also addressed the attendees. He noted that under current wartime conditions, the responsibilities of the police have significantly increased. These include carrying out combat missions as part of special units on the front lines and maintaining order in the rear. He emphasized that today’s law enforcement officers must always be ready to provide assistance, regardless of their location.

The official part of the event concluded with a concert program.
