NEWS, Sport for military veterans

The event was organized by the Department of Special Physical Training at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.

Participants of the table tennis training sessions, which have been regularly held at DSUIA for over a year, are preparing to take part in the qualification stage of the All-Ukrainian sports competition “Veterans Games 2025” scheduled for July in the city of Poltava.

The athletes are trained by Vasyl Koval, a Ukrainian national champion in table tennis. Also joining the training sessions is Viacheslav Kaistro, a military veteran and participant in the Invictus Games, which took place in Vancouver and Whistler (Canada) in February 2025.

Together with their coaches, the athletes are refining their playing techniques, honing their skills in key strokes, practicing defensive strategies, and working on the precision of their movements and positioning.

Group training sessions help the veterans better prepare for competitive matches and analyze game scenarios that require improvement.

The event is part of the “Friendly Support” project initiated by the Department of Education, Science, and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
