Peculiarities of Briefing Police Officers Before Duty: Instructional Session at DSUIA

An instructional session was held for first-year cadets of the Faculty for the Training of Specialists for Pre-trial Investigation Units of the National Police of Ukraine as part of the course “Police Activity.”

The cadets met with Major of Police Mykhailo Horobtsov, Deputy Commander of Battalion No. 2 of the Patrol Police Department in Dnipropetrovsk Region, and Senior Lieutenant of Police Vladyslav Fedash, Inspector of Platoon 2, Company 2, Battalion 1 of the same unit.

The session was also attended by Head of the Department of Administrative Law and Process, Doctor of Law, Professor, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Andrii Sobakar, along with Senior Lecturer of the department Mykola Repan.

Practitioners shared insights into the specifics of patrol police units, their tasks, and the organization of their service activities. Particular attention was paid to the procedure for conducting briefings before police officers assume duty.

During the session, the patrol officers discussed with the cadets the step-by-step procedure of conducting a targeted briefing. This included communicating the operational situation to personnel, checking the readiness of officers to perform their tasks, assessing comprehension of key information, and reporting on task execution.

Cadets actively engaged with questions and received comprehensive answers. The session provided valuable insights into the practical aspects of police service and better prepared the cadets for their future work in operational police units.
