The participants were greeted by the Rector of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, Police Colonel Oleksandr Morhunov.
Regular table tennis training sessions for military veterans continue at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs. During the latest session, a ranking tournament was held to assess players’ current performance levels. Veterans are actively preparing to participate in the qualifying stage of the All-Ukrainian Sports Competition “Veterans’ Games 2025,” which will take place in the city of Poltava.
Rector of DSUIA, Police Colonel Oleksandr Morhunov, wished the athletes motivation, sporting success, and good spirits, emphasizing that the university will continue to support adaptive sports initiatives.
The training was led by Ukrainian table tennis champions Vasyl Koval and Valerii Melnyk, who shared their professional experience, helped the participants improve their technique, and inspired them toward new achievements. Among the competitors was also Viacheslav Kaistro, a military veteran and participant of the 2025 Invictus Games, held in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada.
Table tennis is not only a physical activity but also a powerful tool for physical and psychological rehabilitation. For veterans, the game is particularly beneficial: it enhances coordination, fine motor skills, and reaction speed, strengthens concentration, and significantly reduces stress levels.
