As part of an interregional meeting in Poltava, veterans of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs joined a new type of sports activity for them — the game of pétanque.
This experience became a vivid example of how an accessible, inclusive, and team-oriented sport opens new opportunities for physical activity and psychological relief.
Pétanque is a game without limitations, which does not require special training or complex equipment. It is adapted to different levels of physical ability, making it an ideal option for veterans. Simple movements, moderate physical load, and a focus on accuracy and strategic thinking allow players to concentrate on team interaction and mutual support.
It is especially important that pétanque promotes social interaction and stress relief, as the game requires coordinated actions and communication. Veterans of DSUIA enthusiastically joined the game, discovering new forms of active leisure and a sense of team spirit.
Pétanque (fr. pétanque) is a type of boules game, the goal of which is, while standing inside a circle (with both feet touching the ground), to throw hollow metal balls as close as possible to a small wooden ball.
