The program aired on the DniproTV channel. Together with the Rector, the studio also welcomed Illya, a serviceman who was seriously wounded during the armed aggression of the Russian Federation and is now a student of DSUIA pursuing higher education.
During the meeting, the discussion focused on the implementation of veteran policy at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, social adaptation, and related topics.
Within the interview, the Rector of the University, Police Colonel Oleksandr Morgunov, shared his vision of DSUIA’s role in supporting military veterans. He emphasized that the University holds the status of a “Veteran-Friendly Institution,” actively implements a barrier-free policy, and provides comprehensive physical, psychological, and social adaptation for defenders. DSUIA operates a barrier-free driving school, holds adaptive training sessions in table tennis, wrestling, and boxing, and ensures quality educational conditions for persons with disabilities.
The Rector noted that obtaining higher education is an opportunity to gain a new profession and an effective tool for returning to active life. The integration of veterans into the student community also transforms the university itself — making it more flexible, open, and adaptive to the realities of wartime.
The discussion also covered the most popular specialties among veterans. These include “Law,” “Law Enforcement,” “Psychology,” and a new field — “Computer Science.” Oleksandr Morgunov emphasized that interdisciplinary education allows veterans to combine their military service experience with academic training, opening new career opportunities.
Oleksandr Morgunov also separately highlighted the university’s key initiatives — inclusive programs, adaptive sports, and employment opportunities for veterans.
