A sports rehabilitation event was held in the Central Park of Kamianske. The Chief Judge of the competition was Vasyl Virastyuk, Honorary President of the Strongman Federation of Ukraine, holder of the titles “Strongest Man of Ukraine” and “Strongest Man in the World”.

The participants were welcomed by the Mayor of Kamianske Andriy Bilyousov, Head of the Department of Physical and Mental Health of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Ivan Pohorelyi, and President of the Strongman Federation of Ukraine Serhii Koniushok. They thanked the veterans for their service and emphasized once again that sport is an integral component of both physical and psychological rehabilitation. Vasyl Virastyuk wished everyone a safe performance and worthy results.

The competition brought together around 200 participants from over 20 regions of Ukraine. For the first time, it included veterans undergoing sports rehabilitation at Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs: Oleksandr Movchan, Viacheslav Panin, Viacheslav Krokhmal, and Artem Formaliov. The athletes were supported by representatives of the Department of Special Physical Training – Head of the Department, Police Major Viktor Bohuslavskyi, and Senior Lecturer Marharyta Chobotko.

The DSUIA military veterans tested their strength in four adaptive disciplines: bench press for repetitions (60 kg), kettlebell snatch (16 kg for 1 minute), rowing for 100 seconds, and air bike for 30 kcal. All athletes delivered impressive performances and posed strong competition to their opponents, with Oleksandr Movchan placing 4th in the air bike discipline.

As part of the event, DSUIA presented to residents and guests of Kamianske its Barrier-Free Driving School, which has been operating at the university for over two years. Everyone interested could view the vehicle used for training and retraining drivers in category B with musculoskeletal disabilities.

Vasyl Virastyuk himself assessed the comfort of the specially equipped car by doing a “test drive” together with driver Oleksandr Movchan. The athlete emphasized the importance of creating equal opportunities for vulnerable groups to further build an inclusive society in Ukraine.
