Prizewinners: DSUIA Military Veterans Team Participated in a Billiards Tournament

NEWS, Sport for military veterans

The event “Partnership Cup: Veterans and Journalists – Together Towards Victory in Billiards” brought together veterans from various brigades, veterans of the Journalists’ Union, as well as veterans of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.

The competition took place at the “Billiards Academy” space. A total of 32 players participated in the tournament: both experienced participants and newcomers met at the billiards tables, united by their shared combat experience and desire to maintain physical and emotional activity.

DSUIA was represented by Yurii Ivanov, Pavlo Dmytrenko, Serhii Lytvyn, Oleksandr Zubko, and Andrii Hordiichuk, who took third place, proudly showcasing DSUIA’s athletic potential.

American pool is one of the most popular billiards disciplines in the world. Its uniqueness lies in dynamism, strategic thinking, and precision shots. It is not just a competition but also an effective form of psycho-emotional relief, helping improve concentration, reduce stress levels, and build team spirit.

Such tournaments hold special value for military veterans. They not only help restore communication and cooperation skills but also create a safe space for social adaptation, friendly rivalry, and mutual support.

The Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs consistently supports initiatives aimed at the reintegration of defenders into civilian life. Veterans who train at the university have the opportunity to participate in sports, cultural, and educational events that help them find new meanings and grow beyond military service.
