Today, on July 28, 2025, Ukraine marks for the first time the Day of Remembrance for Defenders of Ukraine Who Died in Russian Captivity.
This day is dedicated to honoring the courage and sacrifice of military personnel, volunteers, and civilians who became victims of torture, execution, or cruel treatment while in captivity.
Cadets of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs joined the nationwide act of remembrance. Flowers and candles were laid at the monument to the Defenders of Ukraine — as symbols of gratitude and remembrance.
Patriotic education is an integral part of training future law enforcement officers at the university. That is why such days serve not only as a tribute but also as a crucial step in shaping the worldview of the young generation — those who are taking on the responsibility for security and justice in the country.
