The Department of Tactical-Special Training of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs conducted an elective course for first-year cadets regarding the rules of using gas masks.
During the course, education seekers familiarized themselves with the algorithm of using means of individual respiratory protection, their transportation, and the specifics of proper wearing. Instructors of the department provided explanations regarding the types of gas masks that are in service with the units of the security and defense sector of Ukraine.
The practical part involved practicing the skills of quick and correct wearing of gas masks. In addition, cadets performed an exercise with running in protective means, transporting a conditional victim on a stretcher. The course allowed practicing action algorithms in conditions of limited visibility and impaired breathing.
The acquired skills have important practical significance: they increase the readiness of future law enforcement officers for actions in areas of potential chemical or other contamination, contribute to the development of endurance, the formation of team interaction, and the speed of response.
