At DSUIA, Advanced Training of Police Officers Continues on Conducting Polygraph Interviews

The training program for advanced training of police officers, dedicated to modern approaches to conducting polygraph interviews, is being held for the first time at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.

Participation in the advanced training is taken by 19 experienced polygraph examiners of the National Police of Ukraine.

Police officers are mastering the legal, psychological, technical, and practical aspects of using the polygraph in official activities. Special emphasis is placed on issues of respecting human rights, using modern communication methods, conducting research in the field of prevention, and ensuring public safety.

During the advanced training, modeling of professional situations is conducted, typical errors are reviewed, and practical skills in testing are practiced. Lectures, seminars, and practical trainings are conducted by experienced DSUIA researchers and invited practitioners.

Among the specialists who conducted the training during the week are the acting head of the laboratory of psychological, linguistic, and other types of research of the Dnipropetrovsk Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, polygraph examiner Anton Shmukin, and assistant to the Head of the Department for Supporting the Activities of the Head of the National Police of Ukraine, polygraph examiner Major of Police Viktor Vdovin.

Participants will acquire competencies necessary for high-quality conducting of interviews, analyzing obtained data, assessing the reliability of statements, and using the polygraph as an auxiliary tool in investigating offenses.
