Support measures at the training ground are conducted by specialists of the Department of Psychological Support of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.
During the training camp, first-year students experience intense psychological and physical loads. The presence of a psychologist is mandatory: he conducts visual diagnostics of the participants’ condition, provides consultations, necessary assistance, and also teaches methods of self-regulation and support of the psycho-emotional state.
Specialists of the Department of Psychological Support organized a special location where a complex of measures was conducted: they were aimed at developing skills to stabilize the emotional state during stress and panic attacks, providing psychological support, and also practicing practical exercises. First-year students actively participated in the exercises, performed tasks, and answered the psychologists’ questions.
An important element of the camp was the observation of the cadets’ behavior during the performance of tasks and communication with commanders. This helped to assess the psychological climate in the unit, identify potential leaders, and conduct preventive measures to facilitate adaptation.
