Police Officers Underwent Advanced Training on Conducting Interviews Using a Polygraph

Certificates were presented by the Rector of DSUIA, Colonel of Police Oleksandr Morgunov.

For two weeks, advanced training for police officers on conducting interviews using a polygraph took place at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.

The training program, dedicated to modern approaches to this activity, was held at DSUIA for the first time. Police officers mastered legal, psychological, technical, and practical aspects of using a polygraph in official activities. Special emphasis was placed on issues of human rights compliance, the use of modern communication methods, conducting research in the field of prevention, and ensuring public safety.

The teaching staff was represented by the following specialists: Assistant to the Head of the National Police of Ukraine, Lieutenant Colonel of Police Yuliia Volkova; Assistant to the Head of the Department for Supporting the Activities of the Head of the National Police of Ukraine, polygraph examiner, Major of Police Viktor Vdovin; Acting Head of the Laboratory of Psychological, Linguistic, and Other Types of Research of the Dnipropetrovsk Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, Anton Shmukin; Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional Law, and Human Rights of the Institute of Training Specialists for Preventive Activity Units of the NPU DSUIA, Lieutenant Colonel of Police Yuliia Zavgorodnia; Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the NPU DSUIA, Lieutenant Colonel of Police Yuliia Khrystova; Senior Lecturer of the Department of Psychology, Sociology, and Pedagogy of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the NPU DSUIA, Kateryna Mitchenko.

Special attention was paid to the practical application of acquired skills. Under the guidance of Yuliia Volkova and Anton Shmukin, police officers performed practical exercises using polygraphs.

Upon completion of the course, participants of the advanced training passed a comprehensive final exam and received corresponding certificates.

During the solemn presentation, the Rector of DSUIA, Colonel of Police Oleksandr Morgunov, emphasized the importance of the acquired knowledge for maintaining legality and public order in the state.
