Psychologists from the Psychological Support Department of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs conducted a session for first-year students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law and Innovative Education.
During the meetings, students learned about the work of the university’s psychological unit. They were informed about the specifics of adapting to new learning conditions and the importance of each individual’s responsibility in creating a supportive atmosphere within the group.
Special attention was given to the accessibility of professional psychological support. Psychologists explained the types of requests the department works with and provided examples of cases from students of previous years.
Participants were shown video materials aimed at developing skills in providing first psychological aid. Students became familiar with the concepts of the stress continuum, acute stress reactions, as well as the main rules, recommendations, and restrictions in this area.
First-year students emphasized the importance of psychological education and the need to overcome the stigma surrounding seeking psychological help in today’s conditions.
