The event was organized by Mykola Repan, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, within the framework of the discipline “Citizen-Oriented Policing.”

To prepare cadets for service and to develop knowledge and skills of cooperation with the population and local authorities, the class was conducted with the participation of the Head of the Community Interaction Sector of the Prevention Department of the Kryvyi Rih District Police Directorate of the Main Department of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region, Police Captain Oleh Podterher, and Community Police Officer Oleksandr Mamotiuk.

First-year cadets were introduced to the work of community police officers as a new format of partnership between the police and society.

The officers emphasized that their work is an integral part of the community’s daily life. They are always nearby, the first to respond to incidents, act proactively, and ensure people’s safety and peace. Their main tasks are maintaining order, preventing offenses and crimes in the community. After the full-scale invasion, the officers have also been engaged in evacuating civilians and delivering humanitarian aid.

The class was held in the format of an open dialogue, where cadets received answers to relevant questions about the specifics of their future service.
