Stanislav Yashchenko explored the game of pétanque at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA).
DSUIA was visited by Stanislav Yashchenko, a military veteran and head of the veterans’ affairs department of the Sievierodonetsk City Military Administration, as well as an ambassador for the Titans.UA veterans’ project. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize himself with the university’s opportunities for veterans’ rehabilitation and social adaptation, particularly through sports activities.
During the meeting, representatives of DSUIA’s Department of Special Physical Training introduced pétanque, a game gaining popularity among Ukrainian military veterans. The training session was led by Yevhen Ratkov, captain of DSUIA’s veteran pétanque team. Stanislav Yashchenko not only learned the rules of the game but also participated in practical exercises on a specially equipped court. Pétanque, which combines strategy, precision, and teamwork, promotes physical activity and psychological recovery for veterans.
The visit highlighted the importance of collaboration between DSUIA and the Titans.UA project in supporting veterans. Such initiatives facilitate the reintegration of defenders into society through sports, communication, and new opportunities for personal development.
