Students of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) and pupils of the Dnipro Lyceum named after Oleksandr Hostishchev participated in the events. Acting Rector Ihor Mahdalyna and distinguished guests greeted the attendees.
Following the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine and a minute of silence to honor the fallen, Acting Rector Ihor Mahdalyna addressed the audience.
He emphasized that the university maintains a high standard of sports achievements and strives to ensure that students’ athletic talents are realized at the highest level. Ihor Mahdalyna noted that physical training is essential for fulfilling the tasks faced by police officers.
The attendees were also greeted by Oleksandr Osypov, Deputy Director and Head of the Sports Department of the Humanitarian Policy Department of Dnipro City Council; Ivan Kolomoets, Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Branch of the “Dynamo” Physical Culture and Sports Society of Ukraine; Maksym Serebrianskyi, Head of the Student and Pupil Department of the Mass Sports Agency of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk Region; Mykola Pozhydaev, Head of the “Titan” Physical Culture and Sports Club Public Organization; and Oksana Boturchuk, Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine in athletics, 2008 Paralympic champion, four-time silver and bronze medalist of the Summer Paralympic Games in 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024, and ambassador of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk Region.
On behalf of the DSUIA community, Ihor Mahdalyna congratulated Oksana Boturchuk on her birthday, wishing her robust health, boundless energy, and new victories.
Students and university staff were awarded certificates from the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, letters of gratitude from the Dnipro Mayor, university certificates, as well as honors from the Mass Sports Agency and the “Dynamo” Physical Culture and Sports Society of Ukraine.
Valuable gifts were also presented to the DSUIA teams and the Dnipro Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education named after Oleksandr Hostishchev.
The event concluded with a creative gift from DSUIA students—a song dedicated to sports and athletes.
