DSUIA Military Veteran Wins Adaptive Judo Tournament

Andriy Shevchenko, a military veteran and DSUIA employee, took first place at an adaptive judo tournament in Vinnytsia.

On September 11–12, 2025, the first adaptive judo tournament, held as part of the Ukrainian Judo Championship, took place in Vinnytsia. The event was organized by the Ukrainian Judo Federation in collaboration with the Special Operations Forces Veterans Association. Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) was represented by military veteran Andriy Shevchenko, who currently works at the university.

In the competition, Andriy Shevchenko demonstrated a high level of skill and secured first place. The silver medal was won by a representative from Odesa, and the bronze went to an athlete from Vinnytsia. His victory exemplifies strength, perseverance, and athletic mastery.

Such achievements highlight the importance of supporting veteran sports at DSUIA, fostering rehabilitation and social adaptation of defenders through physical activity and team spirit.
