Large-scale competitions took place in Lviv at the initiative of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration. Military veterans working at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs won a series of prize places in several disciplines.
The event was honored by the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Matvii Bidnyi, the Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Nataliia Kalmykova, and the Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine Denys Uliutin. The sports competition was also attended by the leadership and representatives of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, representatives of the Main Department of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as the leadership, veterans, and cadets of DSUIA.
The competition gathered nearly 500 participants from 15 regions, 184 of whom were war veterans. The program was quite extensive: from sports relays and endurance exercises to rowing on simulators and barbell lifts.
In the individual standings, DSUIA veteran-employees achieved the following results:
• Ivan Zmiievskyi – rowing 500 m, 3rd place;
• Artem Formaliov – one-leg squats, 1st place; arm wrestling (up to 70 kg category), 3rd place; left and right arm, 3rd place;
• Serhii Prokopenko – rowing 1000 m, 3rd place; bench press 50 kg, 2nd place;
• Bohdan Demchenko – seated press 30 kg, 2nd place; tire flip 25 m, 3rd place;
• Viacheslav Panin – rowing 500 m, 2nd place; rowing 1000 m, 2nd place.
In the team competition, the DSUIA cadet team won 3rd place.
The “TitansUA” project was launched to promote adaptive sports as an effective tool for the rehabilitation of servicemen, veterans, and combatants, as well as for their emotional and psychological relief and gradual adaptation to civilian life.
Within the framework of the event, DSUIA presented the participants with its Barrier-Free Driving School and its opportunities, and everyone interested was able to test-drive a specially equipped car.
