Key speakers of the event were representatives of the Corruption Prevention Department of the National Police of Ukraine and the National Agency on Corruption Prevention, as well as the European Union Advisory Mission.
The meeting was opened by the Chief of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Region, Police General of the Third Rank Oleksandr Hanzha, and the Acting Rector of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs Ihor Mahdalyna.
Invited to participate were authorized persons on issues of prevention and detection of corruption from the main police directorates of Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, and Luhansk regions, as well as representatives of territorial units of the Internal Security Department, Strategic Investigations Department, and Police Security Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
During the first day of the seminar’s work, the issue of the whistleblower’s status, their rights, and guarantees was raised. International practice of protecting whistleblowers and more was discussed. Particular attention was focused on the procedural interview as an effective tool for obtaining information about corruption. Methodological recommendations for the work of authorized users in the Unified Whistleblower Reporting Portal were also presented.
The event has exceptional significance for the region and all of Ukraine, as it confirms the readiness of the National Police to act in close cooperation with international partners to implement high standards of transparency, efficiency, and integrity in law enforcement activities.
