Students of DSUIA and pupils of the Dnipro Lyceum named after O. Hostishchev met with fighters of the 15th Operational Brigade named after Hero of Ukraine Lieutenant Bohdan Zavada of the NGU “Kara-Dag.”
The meeting was opened by Ihor Mahdalyna, who temporarily performs the duties of DSUIA rector. He noted that the university is proud of the opportunity to communicate with warriors who fight daily for the country’s peace and freedom, and their example for youth is a lesson in courage and resilience.
The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine and honoring the memory of the fallen with a minute of silence. The meeting was held in the format of live communication.
Fighters of the “Kara-Dag” brigade emphasized the importance of continuous learning and self-improvement for youth, noting that student years are a unique time for acquiring knowledge and skills. They shared stories about the brigade’s combat path, personal experience of participation in key operations, and also spoke about the value of every moment of life, faith in Victory, and plans for the future.
The guards highlighted that the war in Ukraine has fundamentally changed the world order, forcing countries to rethink approaches to defense and development. Their words inspired the youth to a conscious attitude toward their own role in protecting the state.
At the end of the meeting, Ihor Mahdalyna presented a letter of gratitude for the commander of the 15th NGU Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr Bukatar, and handed the fighters the university flag with wishes for good health, successful service, and the soonest Victory.
