At DSUIA, a training “Joint Work: Police and Disaster Medicine” was held

The training was organized jointly with the Communal Enterprise “Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine” of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council and with the support of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council.

The event was attended by cadets and instructors of the university, university leadership, the Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine, deputies of the regional council.

The event was participated in by Ihor Mahdalyna, who temporarily performs the duties of DSUIA rector, and the assistant to the rector on gender issues, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine Larysa Nalyvaiko.

The event was also attended by a deputy of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, head of the Department for Culture and Sports, Candidate of Sciences in Public Administration Liliia Hyrenko; director of the Communal Institution “Dnipropetrovsk Regional School of Higher Sports Mastery,” member of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine Dina Miftakhutdinova.

The co-organizer of the event was the director of the Communal Enterprise “Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine” of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Honored Doctor of Ukraine Radiy Shevchenko.

Cadets were introduced to the specifics of the work of emergency services. Radiy Shevchenko and disaster medicine specialist Hlib Barkov instructed the cadets on the main algorithms for providing first medical aid in emergency situations, and also helped to practice practical skills of interaction between law enforcement officers and medics in critical conditions.

Practical blocks included a demonstration review of the work of an ambulance team, a demonstration of equipment, and the provision of emergency care for various types of injuries and traumas.

The event became an important step in the training of future law enforcement officers, increasing their level of readiness to act in extreme situations and interact with medical services.
