Cadets, lyceum students, and veterans of DSUIA conducted an open training session on mixed martial arts and told school students of the city of Novoukrainka, Kirovohrad region, about the opportunities of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.
The event was attended by DSUIA cadets, students of the Dnipro Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after Oleksandr Hostishchev, as well as veterans who work at the university and engage in sports at the higher education institution’s facilities.
School students were taught the basics of sambo, judo, and Thai boxing. The sambo training was conducted by university cadets, who shared basic techniques and practical skills. The Ukrainian Champion in adaptive judo, military veteran Andriy Shevchenko, conducted a judo session, demonstrating wrestling techniques.
International Master of Sports Yehor Skurikhin introduced students to Thai boxing and showed striking techniques and defensive actions characteristic of Muay Thai.
Attention during the event was also given to career guidance work. School students learned about the activities of DSUIA, admission specifics, faculties, specialties, and the advantages of studying at the university. DSUIA representatives spoke about educational opportunities, prospects for professional realization in law enforcement agencies, as well as about cadet and student life, which combines discipline, active engagement, and self-development in sports, creative, and scientific spheres.
The event contributed to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, physical culture, and patriotic education of youth, as well as motivated school students to make a conscious choice of their future profession.
