Ukraine-Austria: DSUIA representatives at the international workshop “Investigation Management”

DSUIA Professor Viktoriia Rohalska represented the university at an international workshop on investigation management in Vienna.

The international workshop “Investigation Management” took place in Vienna (Austria) organized by JustGroup and the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights (Norsk senter for menneskerettigheter — Norwegian Centre for Human Rights) with financial support from the Nansen Support Ukraine Programme and Norad.

The event was attended by heads of leading Ukrainian institutions, in particular, the Office of the Prosecutor General, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine, and the Security Service of Ukraine. Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs was represented by Professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure, Police Major Viktoriia Rohalska.

The workshop trainers were international experts: Tony Cook (United Kingdom), strategic investigator, head of the unit combating sexual violence against children, author of manuals on crime investigation, and Ivar A. Fahsing (Norway), chief detective-inspector, associate professor at the Norwegian Police University, visiting professor at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights of the Faculty of Law at the University of Oslo.

Participants analyzed real Ukrainian cases, in particular, war crimes and corruption offenses. They practiced team coordination in complex investigations, in particular, creating an effective team structure, establishing communication between agencies, ensuring transparent task allocation, and joint decision-making.
