Ethics in Police Work: A Binary Training Session for DSUIA Cadets

The event was held for cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for the Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine on the topic “Ethical Foundations of Criminal Investigation Officers’ Work.”

Participants included:

• Nataliia Komykh, Head of the Department of Psychology, Sociology, and Pedagogy, Candidate of Sociological Sciences, Associate Professor.

• Olena Chekhovych, Senior Operative Officer of the Criminal Police Sector of Police Department No. 2, Dnipro District Police Administration No. 1 of the Main Department of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region, Police Captain.

The discussion focused on professional and moral requirements for criminal investigation officers, the importance of adhering to ethical principles in law enforcement, and an analysis of practical situations where impartiality, tolerance, and respect for human rights must be preserved.

Olena Chekhovych shared her professional experience, emphasizing that ethics is a practical tool for strengthening public trust in the police.

The training session contributed to shaping future law enforcement officers’ understanding of the importance of ethical standards, the development of professional consciousness, and readiness to perform their duties under challenging conditions.
