Mediatization of War and Artificial Intelligence: Meeting of the Student Research Group at DSUIA

NEWS

The first meeting of the student research group of the Department of Psychology, Sociology, and Pedagogy in the current academic year was held under the leadership of the Head of the Department, Candidate of Sociological Sciences, Associate Professor Nataliia Komykh.

The topic of the meeting — “Mediatization of War and AI: Who Controls Our Emotions — Us or the Information Space?” — reflected today’s challenges, as during wartime the information space has become another battlefield. Cadets discussed how media influence society and their psycho-emotional state, why it is crucial to critically perceive news and social networks, and the role of artificial intelligence in shaping content.

Attention was focused on how to distinguish truth from manipulation in war-related news, why media literacy is an element of both personal and professional security, and how information attacks affect the psycho-emotional resilience of law enforcement officers.

In addition, two more important issues were analyzed during the meeting:

• methodology of preparing theses for conferences — how to present ideas concisely, reasonably, and academically;

• academic integrity — why honesty in education is directly related to trust in a police officer in future service.

The meeting became not only the first step in the new academic year but also an important platform for developing critical thinking, psycho-emotional resilience to informational pressure, and fostering scientific culture among cadets in the era of AI.
