The event was held within the framework of a joint project of the OSCE Support Program for Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and the National Police of Ukraine
“Enhancing the Capacity of the National Police of Ukraine in Investigating Crimes Related to Human Trafficking, Including Those Committed Using Cyber Technologies.”
The training was joined by cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the NPU Sofia Norokha, Vladyslav Zhelizko, Dmytro Prysniak, and Anton Karaban, as well as instructors – Associate Professor of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs Andrii Zakharko and Professor of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs Viktor Pletenets.
The purpose of the school was to enhance the professional training of participants through familiarization with innovative approaches to organizing the educational process, implementing modern digital technologies, interactive teaching methods, and simulation exercises to improve the practical skills of future specialists.
During the training, participants mastered key trends and reviewed current challenges in the field of combating human trafficking, as well as improved professional skills necessary for handling criminal proceedings in the context of a victim-oriented event.
Within the framework of the sessions, cadets practiced interrogation and interviewing skills for victims of violence, learned to document crimes using IT technologies. The trainees also participated in an interactive quest that simulated the work of an investigative-operative group, where they practiced actions during the investigation of crimes.
Participants noted that the practice of search procedures, crime scene inspection, and victim interrogation was particularly valuable: all tasks were performed in conditions as close as possible to real ones, requiring promptness, logical thinking, and the ability to make quick decisions. This was an effective way to consolidate theoretical knowledge in practice and prepare for real professional challenges. Upon completion of the training course, all participants received certificates of professional development in the field of investigating crimes related to human trafficking, as well as commemorative souvenirs.
