Classes on criminal analysis from practical workers

At Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, a series of practical classes began for 2nd-year cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine.

Employees of the criminal analysis departments of the Main Directorates of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Luhansk Regions were involved in conducting the classes.

The purpose of the training is to familiarize future police officers with the practical application of criminal analysis to enhance the effectiveness of combating crime, particularly under martial law conditions.

The first class on the topic “Criminal Analysis. The Role of Criminal Analysis in the Activities of Law Enforcement Agencies” was conducted by Senior Inspector of the Analytical Work Department of the Criminal Analysis Directorate of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Region, Senior Police Lieutenant Yana Lazareva.

During the class, the main directions of the activities of criminal analysis units, their tasks and goals, as well as the specifics of using specialized software and databases, were discussed. Attention was paid to the interaction of analytical units with other services of the National Police and law enforcement agencies.

Cadets had the opportunity not only to familiarize themselves with the theoretical aspects of analysts’ activities but also to understand the practical significance of criminal analysis in the process of solving and preventing crimes.
