At the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, an award ceremony was held for the diploma winners of the popular science essay contest “Ukraine–Lithuania: New Challenges, New Opportunities.”

Since 2018, DSUIA, together with the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania in Dnipro, has been holding the popular science essay contest for higher education students “Ukraine–Lithuania.” The aim of the contest is to identify talented youth, create conditions for their creative development, and support students’ research work within the framework of cooperation between Ukraine and Lithuania.

This year, 69 essays were submitted for participation, 10 of which were awarded prizes based on the evaluation results of the competition committee. The winners were congratulated by Acting Rector of DSUIA Ihor Magdalina and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine Inga Stanytė-Toločkienė, who noted that such a contest provides an opportunity to study the history and culture of the Republic of Lithuania, while its professional focus promotes understanding of the intergovernmental relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Lithuania in the legal and economic spheres in the context of European integration.

First-degree diplomas were awarded to cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine — Volodymyr Panshyn, Kateryna Tkachenko, and Alina Shkoda, as well as to Natalia Shushpan, a student of the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Distance Learning.

Second-degree diplomas were received by cadets of the same faculty — Roman Heletii, Kyrylo Medvid, and Albert Kubariev.

Third-degree diplomas were awarded to cadets Olena Lukianenko and Maria Khlivna, and to Iryna Astafieva, a student of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law and Innovative Education.

Ms. Inga Stanytė-Toločkienė presented each winner with gifts from the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Ukraine.

Ihor Magdalina expressed sincere gratitude to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary for visiting the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, as well as to representatives of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania in Dnipro for their ongoing support of the annual “Ukraine–Lithuania” contest and for promoting the scientific activities of higher education students within the framework of Ukrainian-Lithuanian cooperation.

During the meeting, he conducted a short tour of the university and spoke about the extensive work carried out by the institution to adapt the educational process to modern security realities.

Participation in the annual popular science essay contest “Ukraine–Lithuania” provides students with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge, develop scientific thinking, form the ability to conduct independent research work, demonstrate creativity, and foster an innovative approach to solving theoretical and practical problems.
