The event was aimed at explaining the concept of domestic and gender-based violence, its types and consequences, as well as familiarizing participants with legal mechanisms for protection against such manifestations.
The speakers on the topic were Associate Professor of the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure at DSUIA, Senior Police Lieutenant Karina Pisotska, and Inspector of the Main Department of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Region, trainer of the NGO La Strada, Senior Police Lieutenant Kateryna Hunko.
Karina Pisotska spoke about the powers of the police in combating domestic violence, the procedure for responding to citizens’ reports, issuing urgent restraining orders, and other measures aimed at protecting victims. She emphasized the importance of not remaining silent about cases of violence and encouraged reaching out to law enforcement agencies and other relevant institutions for help.
Conducting such informational and educational events is an important step toward fostering a zero-tolerance attitude toward violence in society and contributes to creating a safe environment for every citizen.
