DSUIA students practiced the procedure for considering a motion on the application of a preventive measure within the discipline “Criminal Procedure”

At the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, a series of mock court hearings was held for cadets of the Faculty for Training Specialists for Pre-trial Investigation Units of the National Police of Ukraine and students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law and Innovative Education of DSUIA.

The cycle of classes was organized by Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Police Major Alina Harkusha, within the study of the topic “Measures to Ensure Criminal Proceedings.” Senior Lecturer of the Department of Criminal Law Disciplines of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law and Innovative Education Hennadii Diakovskyi also took part in the session.

Judge of the Novokodatskyi District Court of Dnipro Maksym Taus and lawyer Oleksii Pohrebniak were invited to participate in the classes, which took place at the educational training ground “Courtroom.”

During the sessions, cadets of various groups and students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law and Innovative Education observed the implementation of the adversarial principle by the parties during the consideration by the investigating judge of a motion to apply a preventive measure.

Such classes contribute to the formation of professional competencies of future investigators, develop analytical thinking, the ability to conduct ethical communication, and make well-grounded decisions within the framework of the law.
