The event was held for cadets of the Educational and Scientific Institute for Training Specialists for the Preventive Activity Units of the National Police of Ukraine at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.
The training was organized by the trainer of the NGO “La Strada” Kateryna Hunko together with the associate professor of the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure of DSUIA, Senior Lieutenant of Police Karina Pisotska.
The purpose of the event was to raise awareness of future law enforcement officers about the problem of human trafficking and to provide practical tools for its effective prevention.
The training covered a wide range of issues related to human trafficking: international and national legal frameworks for combating human trafficking; methods of victim recruitment; and the procedure for interaction among entities engaged in anti-trafficking activities.
“Training qualified police officers who are capable of effectively combating human trafficking is extremely important,” emphasized Kateryna Hunko. “We hope that the knowledge and skills acquired by the cadets during this training will assist them in their future professional activities and contribute to the protection of citizens’ rights and freedoms.”
Conducting such trainings is an important step in preparing police officers to combat human trafficking and ensure public safety.
