An open elective class was held at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs for cadets, students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law and Innovative Education, and pupils of the Dnipro Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after O. Hostishchev.
The event brought together participants to discuss a highly relevant topic — protection against cyber threats in today’s digital world.
The elective was opened by the Acting Head of the Department, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Yuliia Synytsina, who emphasized the importance of digital literacy for future specialists in the fields of law and security.
The speaker of the event was Dmitro Yehorov, an information technology specialist from the European Union Advisory Mission. He spoke about modern types of malware — viruses, spyware, phishing, and other threats that can endanger both users’ personal data and the information systems of state institutions.
During the class, participants discussed real-life examples of cyber incidents, received practical advice on preventing phishing attacks, and learned how to effectively protect personal data.
The event contributed to raising the level of digital security among students, cadets, and lyceum pupils, reminding everyone that the best protection in cyberspace is knowledge that helps you stay safe online.
