A series of training sessions with interactive elements has been launched by the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.
The first session for the lyceum students was conducted by Mykola Repan, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure; Ihor Kedrovskyi, Police Senior Lieutenant and Inspector of the Public Relations Department of the Patrol Police in the Dnipropetrovsk Region; along with lyceum staff – practical psychologist Nataliia Shynkarenko and social pedagogue Svitlana Kushnikova.
The session took place at the training ground “Prevention and Counteraction of Domestic Violence.”
During the session, students learned from the speakers about the types and manifestations of violence, the causes of violent behavior and ways to overcome it, as well as the legal framework for counteracting domestic violence under martial law. Under the guidance of practical specialists, students worked out action algorithms in case they encounter a situation involving violence.
They also examined a number of typical scenarios faced by police officers when responding to reports and statements of domestic violence. Students tried on the roles of police officers, victims, witnesses, offenders and other participants in the process to better understand how to act in such situations.
These sessions help students gain a closer insight into the specifics of police work, contribute to the development of practical understanding of their future profession and increase motivation for further study.
