Meeting of the Scientific Club of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine

The event was held under the chairmanship of Senior Lecturer of the Department, Police Captain Svitlana Korohod.

The meeting was attended by cadets, academic staff, and Acting Dean of the Faculty, Police Lieutenant Colonel Ihor Shevchenko. During the discussion, participants addressed the topics “Military and Patriotic Education of Ukrainian Youth in the Context of Social Issues” and “Prevention and Counteraction to Gender-Based Violence and Violence Against Children under Martial Law.”

The meeting raised issues related to the formation of national self-awareness, patriotism, moral resilience, and readiness among young people to defend the state under martial law. Special attention was focused on the legal foundations for preventing violence and protecting children and women from unlawful acts, as well as on improving the legal mechanisms of their protection in today’s realities.

Additionally, new printed publications prepared by the academic staff of the department were presented during the meeting. In particular, the participants were introduced to educational manuals for preparing for certification in the courses “Criminal Law” and “Qualification of Military Criminal Offenses.”

These publications are the result of in-depth scientific and pedagogical work of the department’s team. They contribute to improving the training of higher education students, developing professional legal competence among future specialists, and reflecting current trends in the development of criminal law science in Ukraine.

During the discussion, the importance of scientific creativity among lecturers and cadets was emphasized as an integral element in forming highly qualified personnel for the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
